The History of Enterprise
The story of Enterprise began in 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri, when Jack Taylor, a World War II veteran, founded a small car rental company called 'Enterprise Rent-A-Car'. Starting with just seven vehicles, the company focused on providing exceptional customer service, a commitment that would eventually transform Enterprise into a global brand.
In 1969, Enterprise revolutionized the industry by introducing long-term rental contracts, allowing customers to book cars for months or even years, catering to those with extended mobility needs. By 1987, the company expanded further by opening key airport locations across the United States and other countries, making it easier for travelers to pick up and return their vehicles.
Today, Enterprise is one of the largest car rental companies in the world, with a fleet of over 2 million vehicles, operations in more than 90 countries, and approximately 7,600 branches worldwide. Its partnership with Miles Car Rental has further expanded its reach, offering better availability, exclusive benefits, and competitive rates for customers across the globe.
